ABOUT THE PLAY
The impulsiveness of Romeo and the resilience of Juliet resides in almost every young person even today. Love stories still happen and the strongest of them happen during high school.
We look at this classical tragedy through the lens of modern school going, boys and girls. Their simple, unadulterated, black-and-white lives come alive through the minimalistic and symbolic design of the play. The young actors blend both Elizabethan and Modern English. We have a few dances and actors often sing their dialogues to highlight the passionate young.
We have borrowed ideas from Bertolt Brecht’s work, where the actors are constantly suggesting that this is a play and can happen to anyone on stage and in the audience.
This is our brave attempt to bring Shakespeare and Brecht on stage together.
